I don’t understand the controversy behind this. There is a darned good reason for that law. OTOH, elected officials sell their votes all of the time for big money. Why can’t the little guy get some of that action?

I guess it is the basic that votes are to be secret.

When I was in a union the BA asked me who I was voting for and my reply was, "There is a curtain there when I vote for my secrecy."
