I was surprised that Drudge headline today was reference to a National Enquirer story that was very slim in details and references.
Drudge was already aware of the story's impending release several days ago and indicated it on twitter. No doubt NE has been in contact with him and provided him with more details on the information they have to substantiate the story. The NE story comes out tomorrow. It will contain more details and references.
The fact that Drudge has highlighted the story in advance is a good thing. He has confidence that the story has legs. As the details come out, he will air them drip by drip. The MSM will try to avoid any coverage, but like the Edwards and Lewinsky cases, they can't stonewall forever.
You didn't figure out that the Enquirer story was the hook to sell the issue that is about to hit the news stands?
Why would they put all the details in an online article you can read for free?
