Oregon militia movement growing steadily, report says

Right-wing militia groups have grown steadily since the 2008 election of President Barack Obama and they continue to grow, according to a new report released this week.

The left-leaning Political Research Associates published “Up in Arms: A Guide to Oregon’s Patriot Movement” during a presidential election season that’s seen Republican nominee Donald Trump appeal to such right-wing groups while Democrat Hillary Clinton has been the subject of ire for those same groups.

The report says Oregon has one of the most developed militia movements in the country and it details the rise of the movement, including events and groups that have developed in the state in recent years.

The Patriot movement came about in Oregon and elsewhere in the wake of the 1990’s militia movement. At the core of their beliefs is the idea that the federal government threatens their freedoms.

“These groups are often armed and advocate defying federal laws they think are unconstitutional,” the report says, adding militias employ an inside/outside strategy as some members work to change things from within the government, while those on the outside undermine the system.

Why are the authors of the study more worried about these legal groups than illegal groups paid by the Democrats to violently disrupt the political process?
Or all the gangs that have infiltrated our military.

Only the feds know how many have infiltrated. They’re probably dangerously compromised.

In any group of more than three people, the odds are good that one is an informant. If any member has ever been arrested for anything, assume that he has been put under heavy pressure to be an informant, in exchange for probation.

If you look at the heatmap of vote totals for just about any modern election the overwhelming majority of the United States is republican (Conservative) while the major urban centers are overwhelming liberal (socialist). Even if we broke up into independent republics similar in size to the European countries the cities would skew the balance in favor of the socialist party just like they do now.

Perhaps a sensible alternative would be to only allow landowners to vote or Heinline’s vision of military veterans or those citizens who did two years of community service as having earned the right to vote, and I might add that somebody has also suggested that receiving any form of government assistance negates that right for as long as the citizen can vote favorably to increase his own largess.
