Once in a while Black Swan hits and upend all the previous thinking. System is undergoing critical change and major reconfiguration. If there is a model to incorporate this kind of sudden shift, it would not be a traditional model, which is based on the assumption that past trend will hold in future, too. To be precise, it is the past trend since the last major disruption which could be many decades ago.
