Notice that most of the food was bagged up, in quanities for re-sale.
Do you need another reason to begin that garden, no matter what the size.
Gardening gets you into your own food production, or knowing how to grow crops for food.
Or, you could put it off until next year, ..like you did last year !

Thanks for the ping. I still remember Nixon’s price controls, which led to quite a few empty shelves. And then there was the shortage of gasoline and gas lines during that time frame too.

At least, those controls were lifted. Stagflation became an oft used term too.
