*** “they knew anything that hit Obama’s desk would be vetoed. No loss. Just pin it on Obama. Now that their vote really counts, it’s been hard to find like mindedness about what to do” ***

I have been telling my critter since he got there that he is good at Show Votes and 100% Wrong when they actually Count

It has been “Show Votes” and BS for the last 8 years...
THEY LIE for your Vote and get Rich on Insider Trading and deals they make with each other using Riders and Vote Trading.
In their world Representation is overrated.

Ryan is Speaker only because they couldn’t settle on anyone else and he “volunteered”. Take a look at his record and tell me what he’s done. He’s only sown discord and that’s why he can’t get them in line to repeal something no one likes. No one likes him either, and he’s no leader.

Actually that is how easy it is to be A Supreme Court Justice, Read the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and just remember these Four words

“Congress shall make no Law... “

Anything that remotely does not sinc up is Not Constitutional

Ticks me Off that Congress doesn’t take this very basic approach to everything they do ... (Presidents too)

That witch hillery is the “living and breathing document” #**# and that goes all the way back to hillerycare.
(when that *##* Sl*## bitch wasn’t selling us out to our enemies she was trying to dilute our Liberty and Freedom by attacking our Founding Documents.
That F*#**#g C*3** is as Evil as anything and none can change my mind of that Fact.

Harry Reid liked him so he never got the Kerrigan treatment ... Harry is gone so someone should mention that is an option.

Because instead of repealing it and replacing it with nothing...acknowledging that Fedgov has no business legislating health insurance, the RINOs have decided to try to keep the power given to them by Obamacare to control a huge swath of the economy.

The MFM will do that anyway regardless of the outcome - they are not on Liberty's side

You’re right.

I was maybe 25 when the “living and breathing” statement was made.

I didn’t know what it meant then, but I do now. And it’s all bad.

That and we’re a “salad”.

No, we’re a melting pot.

You get wars like in Bosnia with a salad.

I don't disagree with what you say but he is the speaker and while his leadership may be lacking his ability to use his power to screw up the agenda is not. So I don't understand how it's a mistake on President Trump's part to use the Speaker to get some part of his agenda through. If the President tried to do an end run on his first big piece of legislation Ryan would have made sure it never made it to the floor.

Look I haven't liked Ryan since he failed to beat Biden in the debate and if this bill fails much of the blame goes to his ineffective leadership, not to Donald Trump. Many times to fix a company process you have to use it to expose the deficiencies. The same goes for government. You have to use the people you have to expose them. If Ryan doesn't deliver then there will probably be a lot of pressure for him to step aside.

Because it has Obama's name on it, and now Democrats are in "Protect The Legacy of the First Black President" mode.

Yeah, he called America a salad bowl, in other words, don’t assimilate.

I found a lot of references to it online but all in the context of just using his phrase without his name being attached to it or attached too far down the page.

And i wasn’t gonna send you a link that you didn’t feel like reading :)

Trump has a way of getting the required votes when no one expects him to...

Then why aren't we talking about the passage of Trumpcare this morning?

Because Trump doesn't want it, never did, just played a little game of showing everyone he'd work with House Republicans through their Speaker Ryan.

Trump wants a clear cut repeal and then Congress can fight like cats and dogs all year and if he doesn't like what they come up with he can veto it. Step one is proving that Republicans were never serious about repealing Obamacare.

That's the bottom line, you have a different opinion, so be it.

I disagree. Trump want this and he fought for this. He made three mistakes along the way. The first one is he obviously and completely underestimated the complexity and had no plan of his own that came close to delivering on the promises he made during the campaign. The second is that he let Ryan create his own plan and Trump put his stamp on it. And the third is he let Ryan set the timing of the agenda, which goes back to his underestimation of the issue. It's been a learning experience for Trump and I don't see him repeating the same mistake again.

Trump wants a clear cut repeal...

Trump has never wanted a clear cut repeal. He has, from day one, advocated simultaneous repeal and replace. It would have been better if he had just advocated repeal only.

That's the bottom line, you have a different opinion, so be it.

Indeed.

from the Trump Healcare Reform position statement.
1. Completely repeal Obamacare. Our elected representatives must eliminate the individual mandate. No person should be required to buy insurance unless he or she wants to.

Until Ryan started screwing around going back and forth on supporting Trump after the election, Trump always said repeal of Obamacare was a stand alone, first step. Ryan wouldn't even let a repeal come up for a vote unless replacement was done at the same time.

Think what you like, but Trump always said repeal was first, everything else came afterwords starting with letting insurance companies sell insurance across State lines.

Trump went along because he knew anything with replacement attached wouldn't pass but would slap Ryan in the face. Ryan wanted to flex his little muscles to show Trump who was boss, so Trump let him.

Ryan was a Never-Trumper during the campaign, declaring that he would not campaign with Trump, then supposedly switched only to stand him up at what was supposed to be a joint event. If you put your trust in a guy like this, who drafted a piece of crappola and would not let anyone see it, or know the details, then bristled at suggestions that things should be changed, you're making a mistake. Whether he is Speaker or not, there are ways to work around him, including GET A COMPETENT GROWN-UP AS SPEAKER! He's a big part of the swamp!

You realize there was a 2 through 7 right?

Until Ryan started screwing around going back and forth on supporting Trump after the election, Trump always said repeal of Obamacare was a stand alone, first step. Ryan wouldn't even let a repeal come up for a vote unless replacement was done at the same time.

Trump had been talking about repeal and replace months before the inauguration and before the election. And he's always said it would be simultaneous.

Think what you like, but Trump always said repeal was first, everything else came afterwords starting with letting insurance companies sell insurance across State lines.

And what he was advocating was all included in this repeal and replace bill, either in phase 1 or in phase 2 or 3.

Trump went along because he knew anything with replacement attached wouldn't pass but would slap Ryan in the face. Ryan wanted to flex his little muscles to show Trump who was boss, so Trump let him.

If that was truly Trump's plan, and I don't agree for a second that it was, then it really backfired on him. As soon as Trump put his whole support behind it then it became his plan. It's Trumpcare. Its loss is his loss.
