This post is a rare exception, assuming anyone ever sees it.

The trick, BassWrangler, as all old time Pyjama Patrol Officers know, is to reply to "All."

That way, All will know, for instance, that as you say, you have been on the internet since the 1980s.

There is, however, a Free Republic "back door," accessible only via the BBS.

Hint: "Kristinn" encodes the new BBS number into every fifth HUGH (series) post using a simple substitution cypher, whereupon "Lazmataz" hits it. Good luck!

Yes, in the late 1980s I was a grad student at Georgia Tech, and had access to email, so technicallly was on the Internet. Later, probably 1990s at that point, and after graduating, I was one of the first 100 customers of Mindspring. Internert back then was mostly “Gopher” and other archaic stuff. I also did all the BBS stuff, over dial-up modem of course.
