Hello darkness, our old friend. The beginning of the Gold Cup for the US sees them facing Panama again.
And in looking ahead to the match-up, which kicks off the Yanks campaign on Saturday at Nissan Stadium (4:30 pm ET | FOX and Univision), nobodys coming in hot or headstrong.
Panamas extremely a tough opponent, especially right out of the gate, said defender Matt Besler, of Sporting Kansas City, on Thursday afternoon, after the US last training session at Nashvilles Lipscomb University. We seem to have played them a lot in recent years, and every single games been different, and theyve all been very tough, physical battles.
For some at US camp, a tough opponent to start is a little like ripping off a bandage, with a positive result steamrolling into some momentum in a tournament that could be winnable. But, yes, even a draw will definitely require laser focus.
Theyre a very familiar opponent
It feels like we see them every couple months, said defender Graham Zusi, also of Sporting Kansas City. Theyre a dangerous team. They play the counter pretty well, and their set pieces are very dangerous as well. This is a game were gonna have to be locked in for a full 90 minutes.

Canada can’t afford lapses vs. Costa Rica at Gold Cup
Canada will be looking to reach rarefied air on Tuesday night when it takes on Costa Rica in its second game at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Honduras vs. French Guiana
If Honduras are going to climb back into knockout-round contention in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, this would seem an ideal time to do it.
(these games are not timezone friendly for me)
Years ago my wife did an interview with Iggy Pop and his wife at the time Suchi, a small Japanese woman.
She said he was very sweet and made them all tea. Was nothing like you would expect from a punk rocker.
Woke up early for the 88th minute of the Honduras - French Guiana game.
0-0
Full Time
Costa Rica 1-1 Canada
Honduras 0-0 French Guiana
Interesting.
That needs to be tallied up still and will take some hours for people to publish some blah-blah.
"More precisely, he is not eligible to play. He can play, but he's not eligible."
Nice stinky brouhaha there.
French Guiana will almost certainly forfeit the match 3-0 by playing him.
Brouhaha From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A brouhaha, from French brouhaha, is a state of social agitation when a minor incident gets out of control, sometimes referred to as an uproar or hubbub.[1]
brou...ha-ha

She advanced to Bronze.
Next is Silver and then Gold.
Gold is the highest, then you can be a lifeguard.
They have a Silver class starting September 23.
Not going to count on her passing it then but will be good start for another class in spring. :)
