Maybe off topic, but so many radio stations, of varying formats, have such tight playlists, that it gets so repetitive after a while.

I listen to some satellite radio stations, which play a much greater variety, than some of the terrestrial radio stations.

As to why radio stations choose to play such a tight playlist, anyone know? Especially if it turns off some listeners such as me? I’m sure I’m not the only one to turn off terrestrial radio due to so many commercials and lack of variety in music played.

Yep. Since I am a new convert to country, about three years now, I just like the new stuff. But yeah, the Highway has been and remains my gateway drug.

I’ve only been listening for about 20 yrs. The twang used to make me laugh when I was a kid but I’ve slowed down since then. LOL

The stations are almost all owned by 6 big companies. They probably have contracts with the artists and want to sell the music and make money with ads.
