Belt fed have a lower pitch sound to them. To me its like a "thud" sound. More important the LMG uses a 30 round clip. The shooter was firing 50 rounds at a time. When I first heard it I thought it was an M240 (it might be.) I would say it was an M249. Also, note how long it takes to reload:

The shooter was firing 50 rounds at a time.

The taxi cab burst was a 92 round salvo. I am assuming that 2 seconds was not enough time to reload after shot 13.

Shooter had Surfire magazines. They are 60 and 100 rounds.

The M249 can use *both* magazines and belted ammo.

But no M249 was found.

Reloading time is not a problem if you have multiple firearms loaded.
