I use to be like you conspiracy deniers before my sister married a guy who was in line to go to work for one of those black op teams before he got blown up in Afghanistan. Yes, those teams do exist. It is downright scary the stories I’ve been told. They could be written off as a fiction larry brown if I didn’t know his history. I can’t begin to tell you what our govt is capeable of. The one thing I can’t get my bro in law to answer is why he wanted to work for such an agency that did such horrible acts. Some of the guys he knows who have left the agency now live up in the mountains “shooter” style, paranoid as all can be. These “conspiracy theories” are 100% possible. I simply shake my head at the deniers who simply cannot fathom that there are horrible people in our govt who really do do this kind of thing.
I have known a couple of guys who actually *did* black ops. One is dead. They sure did not talk about it much, but one would when he was in his cups, and I was trying to keep him alive.
Governments, in general, are capable of lots of nastiness. But that doesn’t mean there is a conspiracy under every rock.
I like to use Occam’s razor.
Saying there had to be accomplices because a 64-year-old could not possible take 10 bags up to his room over a week? Or ask for help from a bellhop?
Freerepublic is better than that.
One problem.

I used to buy this stuff a long time ago, back when it was mainly leftists who believed it and pushed it.
It’s a paranoid and unhealthy mind set.
There is enough real weird stuff in this world to help people fall in to this paranoid trap.
But just get away from it and embrace reason, logic and rationalism.
If you’re religious you can understand it as a trick by the devil to make people think this way.
