Millennials Can’t Handle Reality, Are We Doomed?

Debt-ridden Millennials just can’t handle real life. Hit with a never before seen amount of debt and facing a shifting and hollowing job market, it’s little wonder that a shocking number of Millennials say they are having a crisis at their current point in life when they are supposed to be finding out who they are and what their life is all about.

A LinkedIn survey of 2,000 Millennials shared by Moneyish revealed that 72% of young professionals aged 25 to 33 confessed to being in a quarter-life crisis, or a period of self-doubt and insecurity that leads them to question their choices they have made in life so far, especially in regard to relationships and career paths.

A small amount of disposable income, mountains of debt, and an uncertain employment market will cause this kind of anxiety and questioning for a young man or woman.

Millennials Can’t Handle Reality, Are We Doomed?

They think everything happening to them is new, that nobody before them went through a "crisis" the same.

Who did not buy a new car too many or run up credit cards in their 20's?

I know it's fashionable to consider Millenials a bunch of self-absorbed Obamabots. However, I don't think it's elderly National Review readers who are buying all of Milo's books or going to his speeches - which are NOT about "me me me" but something bigger.

Deplorable parents are undoubtedly advising Deplorable millenials to hang up when a telemarketer calls, or walk away from dopes with clipboards, thus causing an underweighting in polls. Thus, any poll etc speaking of Millenials being this or that are suspect.

Finally, remember that by most accounts, at the time of the Revolution, 20% were Loyalists, 33-45% were Patriots, and the rest were ballast. If you replace Loyalist with statist, and Patriots with Deplorables, we are right where we started.

I thnk we are seeing history repeat itself. The left/Loyalists are painting the Patriots/Deplorables as intransigent dolts who must be brought to their knees and Kiss the Ring, for their own good. In turn, the Patriots/Deplorables are not going quietly into the night, using new media to outsmart the Establishment and bring otherwise neutral parties to the side of truth and freedom.

In turn, the kids of Deplorables likely are as much "underground" as are their parents in polls, etc. The whining Antifa losers get all the airtime. Where the Deplorable, responsible Millenials ARE visible, among other places, is on memes and the like....have you ever seen how many pro-Trump meme pics there are vs anti-Trump? I doubt that's coming from a bunch of geezers. And, younger military personnel are, well, MILLENIALS.

Thus, I wouldn't so easily assume the millenials are largely commies or narcissistic oafs.

I think they will figure it all out over the course of the next 7 years or so.

When I was very young, I thought bees were friendly. I wanted to pick one up. My brother told me not to. But I did anyway. I learned a lot about the reality of bees very quickly. It blew away all my misconceptions and taught me a lesson that has stayed with me the rest of my life.

Agreed, but still it’s fun to watch “Royals” by Lorde on youtube. Or “Gotta love Millennials”.

And if most Millennials aren’t flaky, then why do we now have PUMPKIN FLAVORED everything!!!?

Millenials are facing the reality that there are few “ defined benefit plans” out there anymore regarding retirement...

Instead they need to go work for the government, losing their individuality, or see the reality that the bashing of business success that will drive the value of their 401k is a loser if they follow the Dem mantra.

They are facing catch 22’s all around and may just wake up that they have been feed a pack of lies in their educational experience...

Like Tonto said to the Lone Ranger when they got surrounded by 2000 Comanches...”where do you get that “we”? Paleface”.

If the millennials can’t handle reality, it isn’t going to affect “us” much.

So: the typical millennial doesn't think his job is fun, he's looking to Tinder to find true love, he's buried in student loan debt with a degree that doesn't pay, and he's not buying a home despite record low interest rates -- mostly, if truth be told, because he's postponing marriage and doesn't want to commit to anything that would tie him down.

And these things are the world's fault, not the result of questionable priorities and bad decisions. Electing Bernie would have solved these problems, because socialism would engage in massive levelling, thus eliminating the status anxiety caused by resentment of peers who made better choices. This is why the millennials are drifting left. Got it.

God is not mentioned; He is apparently not a factor in any of this.

I tend to agree with your assessment. I do know some absolutely worthless millennials, but by contrast I know far more that are responsible people.

The media is grabbing the lefties of the bunch and making them to look like they are the mainstream millennials, similar to what they are doing the Black people.

I’m also of the belief the campus snow flakes are just pampered rich kids from lefty parents which are actually a minority at the schools, but get all the attention from the media and leftist administrators.

” facing the reality that there are few “ defined benefit plans” out there anymore regarding retirement...”

And remember the modern MBA line. A defined benefit plan where the employer takes a hunk of your pay for several decades and professionally invests it is mathematically impossible. But you running your own IRA and coming up with the same outcome is no big deal.

They’ve been brainwashed into demanding free stuff from those of us who work for a living. Wage redistribution. It’s a commie thing.

>>Those gender studies degrees are pretty useless.

Those tech degrees are pretty useless (offshoring with development being done in China and India now for major US companies).

Those law degrees are pretty useless now (automation handles the low level tasks of forms and research).

Those construction skills are pretty useless now (unless you habla espanol).

Those manufacturing skills are pretty useless now (automation and imported).

Those burger flipping skills are pretty useless now (automation and fat shaming).
