Truckers make six figures?? Really??
Trucker Josh pulls down quite a bit but six figures must include a lot of overtime.
Not all truckers. Local P&D (heavy lifting but home every night and good benefits) can make 60 grand. A good linehaul position can run six figures but usually more like 80 grand. Long haul drivers with good contracts do well, too.
There might be a few, and very few is probably a more accurate statement. Certainly not what new drivers are going to earn.
My thought also.
The only truck drivers I know that do well are unionized ones (UPS, etc.) - and that is after they have some years under their belts. Otherwise, I suspect drivers bump against an earnings ceiling where companies will just find cheaper drivers (like any other field).
truckers do make 6 figures, however, the accounting is a flipping mess, the trucking company tries to screw them at every turn, the deadlines are unattainable, it sucks as a job
I'm guessing independent truckers - the ones who own their own business/18-wheelers. Of course, you don't start out that way.
I had a friend whose husband was one. He had his own truck. He worked hard, just like any independent businessman. He did very well for himself and his family. I'd guess he was easily putting in six figures. On the downside he was away from home a lot.
