Coal gassification and syngas-to-liquid conversion to produce clean diesel fuel is one of the technologies that csn put coal to a good use.The pollutant byproducts of the processes are a problem that needs to be addressed. The technologies will appear when those processes become economically advantageous.

Power companies have been working toward clean coal for decades. My dad worked at the utility for almost 40 years and we’ve been hearing about progress since the 1970s.
