I lived in Denver during “Rocky Mountain High€. It's all that played 24/7 on the radio. He was great at his gift of music, but he became the most touchy feely liberal puke on the planet. Used to mow his lawn naked with a push mower to get in touch with nature. Drew all the other “Striesand” type liberals up to Aspen. And ran out all the locals who couldn't afford the new property taxes with “Star” mansions being built all over the place. Of course the elites needed to fly in and out in planes and helicopters etc. Maybe that's just progress. But he was just as bankrupt on his liberal thinking as the rest. He touted the natural beauty of Aspen in his songs, but in reality, his fame and fortune brought “more sorrows upon the land.”

‘He touted the natural beauty of Aspen in his songs, but in reality, his fame and fortune brought “more sorrows upon the land.”’

The actual lyric is a little worse than that:

‘Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land’
