The Trump administration is making preparations to warehouse migrant children on military bases, according to Defense Department communications, the latest sign the government is moving forward with plans to split up families who cross the border illegally.
According to an email notification sent to Pentagon staffers, the Department of Health and Human Services will make site visits at four military installations in Texas and Arkansas during the next two weeks to evaluate their suitability for child shelters.
The bases would be used to hold minors under age 18 who arrive at the border without an adult relative or after the government has separated them from their parents. HHS is the government agency responsible for providing minors with foster care until another adult relative can assume custody....

In the meantime, this will be the safest place, until they can be placed back home, with their forever parents.

seeing how a lot of the kids handed over to soc alled relatives in the past have been trafficked this is the safest option as far as I am concerned. I would suggest that children under the age of 14 be separated from the older ones because there is a element who lie about there age who are actually adults and the younger kids are not safe if they are housed with the older kids.
Just keep the ones with facial hair and ugly tats FAR away from the base armory

Current law makes DHS responsible for them - sucks but consolidation makes it easier and cheaper to tend to them.
Um there is a specific reason for this. I read that the US govt has lost track of 15000 migrant children. Well guess what folks? If there are organized pedo rings these children are next on the menu for the Clintons. Its good to protect them before deporting them.
