Not to distract from the eye-popping salaries of top energy executives, but there is something else eye-opening about comparing oil and gas CEOs to the average oil and gas worker.
The median workers at these companies, at least the ones producing most of natural gas in Pennsylvania, are doing quite well.
Yes, they still might earn 100 times less than their CEOs, but just try sneezing at these median compensation numbers.
CNX Resources: $129,390
Range Resources: $123,500
Chesapeake Energy: $118,761
Southwestern Energy: $108,458
EQT: $102,470
Cabot Oil & Gas: $75,891
With about 8,500 employees among them, these Marcellus Shale operators are at the top of the food chain meaning there are layers of contractors who drill their wells, haul their materials, treat their frack water and pave their access roads that arent represented in this data.
And theres reason to think being at the top means being paid more, too. Looking at the median compensation for some of the publicly traded well service firms contractors like Halliburton, Baker Hughes or Nabors Industries the median salary is substantially lower: $79,636, $68,917, and $52,688, respectively....

they are also out west- north dakota- loads of jobs there- high paying- hard work though- tough in the winters- but well worth it if a person is younger and strong and can withstand brutal winter weather outdoors up on rigs with winds howling- and yes- wind really howls in ND- ALl the time practicaLLY- but a few short years working there will get you a very nice start in life-
Also0- for folks with a CDL license- they have some high paying jobs in the oil fields as well-not quite as brutal as the rig work-

And across the border in NY? Nada. Evil oil and gas fracking forbidden.
If you are able bodied, willing to work, dont do drugs, and show up on time wanting to work, The oil patch is hiring.
Big money is flowing in the oil patch. Alls you gotta do is want it.

One notes that ALL “renewable energy” efforts contribute 2.6% of all electricity. This after several trillon dollars have been spent on wind, solar power, and hydroelectric generators.
