“Ah yes, Sambo’s - The pancake house named after the story of the african kid who stopped a tiger”

Actually, Sambo was from southern India. How black americans glommed onto his story to be offended is beyond me.

I’d completely forgotten it is actually an inspiring story about a South Indian boy and tigers. Turns out Political Correctness was alive and well in 1932 when black poet and playwright “Langston Hughes criticised Little Black Sambo, despite its being set in India, as a typical “pickaninny” storybook which was hurtful to black children, and gradually the book disappeared from lists of recommended stories for children.”

The PC crowd never lets facts get in the way of the truth.
