It’s a communication and gaming platform. A lot of my hobbies go through FB just because so many of the people are there and it’s an easy place to communicate with them.

Everyone has justification for why they go there. That’s crazy. This site is designed against you - regardless of who you are.
You can’t pay for it if you wanted to - that means you aren’t the consumer, you are the product.
Your digital life and even much bleed into your real life is charted, documented and then sold to people for their gain.
You are literally cattle. On top of that, whenever someone such as myself suggests leaving it, the defenses come up and the excuses start to roll.
That’s addiction.
