Maybe the leftist plan all along was to make us conservatives clamor for a guy who may be another Anthony Kennedy, while their protestations were along the lines of Brer Rabbit and the briar patch?
That would make this entire scenario nothing but Bread and Circuses - pushed by McConnell and the Deep State to Trump, Trump nominates, then the Deep State plays kabuki theater siphoning off funds from private parties to fill their coffers.
I don’t believe that though. But it still says something about how badly the DNC has gotten that they can’t orchestrate a proper counter strategy and let their leftist/socialist babies run policy. Worse that Flake et al fell right in line with them and capitulated to them.
As much as Collins is bloviating here, she’s making a rational and logical case for her decision - and I have to applaud that given the circus we’ve seen for the past month.
Maybe so, but they probably shouldn’t have tried to destroy a guy who they hoped would be another Kennedy. They have probably turned him into a Thomas. Someone who has seen the evil of the left, and will not want to help them out in the future.
That may be part of it. He wasn’t my favorite pick but after this farce we can’t let the whole process be destroyed. Not seating him would be disaster for our system of government.
