A lot of people said the same thing about McCain after the dem’s favorite maverick ran for the big job and the press called him a racist. It wasn’t long until he went back to his old left wing roots though.

Kavanaugh is not McCain. Don't forget that McCain cheated on his first wife and left her. Also, I doubt that McCain always went to Mass — in his case, Mass at the Episcopal Church — every week. Kavanaugh may not be as conservative as many of us freepers would like. However, he's a good man and who knows what the suffering of the past few weeks will have done to him? He may emerge significantly more conservative than he was before he was accused of attempted rape.
