For Clowns in grifter families, your subservient, usually compromised position was where one could learn skill-sets and earn more money faster than one could make in most principled, professional employment.
SAD saw that if she played her cards right, she could do really well for herself with Barry, the bastard child. She groomed him in multi-faceted ways, so he had chances to be 1) an Indonesian president, 2) a Pakistani president, 3) a Kenyan president, or 4) a US President if anyone from any of those countries of Biden's stature would care to comment on the crease of his pant leg.
For intel-community-connected grifter families, the children in your care were most often other people's bastard or neglected children anyway, so the monthly stipend was a not-all-that-caring goal in itself. It's generally been a palmed-off model of the more legitimate, state-run DCFS foster care environment.
