Yes, I agree 100% with your premise. I see very few talking about the best point of the epidemiological (spread of infectious disease) triangle, all three being necessary for transmission. One is the infected host...not much we can do. Another is the contaminated item...air with droplets, door handles, etc. Third is the point we can very much control...our own immunity. I discovered years ago that small olive oil sips taken and allowed to roll around the back of the throat before swallowing prevent most viral infections. I think it allows the body to fight back most efficiently. I had taken it when a flu was coming on, waking me at three in the morning. I couldn’t find a throat lozenge so settled for olive oil by the kitchen stove, thinking that it would at least soothe my throat enough to get back to sleep, I awoke hours later with a total cure. It stung for a few seconds which first worried me, but since then I have realized that was the beginning of the prevention and the cure. Sometimes several doses as often as needed are required to completely change the course of what is coming on. Now I always take a sip in the morning and at night before bed. It can’t hurt...and it sure does help!
Interesting, Bravada. Olive oil has historically been prized as a medicinal food. You rediscovered it, inadvertently, like Newton!
