...Because youre wearing one, youre mad at anyone else who isnt. You cant say with any real certainty or evidence that you know youre right to wear one, or that the other person is wrong not to. But thats what you were told, and you believed it. So you decided to get a mask and wear it and yes its a pain but you believe its part of a noble, collective effort to work together and do something big. And so when you see someone who isnt wearing a mask, you take it personally. Youve been told that that person doesnt care about your health and safety. And you believed it. And so you see the person who isnt wearing a mask as a bad person; one who isnt willing to chip in, as you are, for the collective greater good. And worse, you see someone who doesnt care if he or she puts others in harms way. Youre wrong. And Ill explain why shortly. But that hostility you feel for those not wearing masks is both unhealthy and unfounded. Your mask is making you meaner...

I haven’t been anywhere other than walking my dog. People in general piss me off so it’s a good thing I’m home and happy.
“Is there such a thing as heard immunity with this virus.
I have heard that people have been reinfected with it.”
Rigggght. and somewhere I heard we only have 12 years left. this is our World War 2...

If you didnt know who he was with Wikipedia it probably doesnt matter anyway
His works on stoicism are probably some of the greatest wisdom in history
All I ask of people not wearing a mask is to kindly stay 6 feet away from me.
“I have heard that people have been reinfected with it.”
That’s probably not the case.

And btwit may not have come off clearly but I was trying emphasize what you said as I was agreeing
You do you. Asking people to wear a mask at this point in time is definitely NOT wrong. Forcing people to wear a mask is a whole different discussion.
I cant stand these mask people.
That IS crazy. Not necessarily the masks for vulnerable people, but the mandates.
I’m excited to be going to a restaurant on Tuesday. INdoors. Most of them opened last week.
Let's not forget, if you are in an area with the virus in the air, then your clothing, skin, hair, and eyes are all contaminated. There is no way people are protecting themselves at all in any way using these magical masks.
Eh, I would disagree. Masks can help train people to not bring their hand to mouth/nose. With that said, people need to know how to correctly don/doff a mask. Very few do.
It's all about reducing risk. As long as people make the choice that's best for them, that's that.
I went by my bank yesterday. It was closed except for the ATM. Forget it. My bills are paid directly from the bank. No telling who has touched that machine. I needed money for my granddaughters birthday but I had about $100 so I just gave that to her. I got gas but I had gloves in the car so I just put one on. There were people inside but no one had a mask on. The stores I went by had their parking lots nearly full so people are not staying home. Traffic was about normal. People are fed up with this junk. I read that The Beach Club in Gulf Shores opened their beaches. My daughter has a condo there. There is a lot more to this than what we are being told. I have a very suspicious mind. God bless.
I got it! I just reread my post and saw my typos! LOL sorry about that
You should get out more. The last time I was at a Walmart, I'm sure I saw at least one hundred in masks. Same for the patrons of a nearby large grocer.
I guess some FReepers wont be happy until all Americans looks like dead-eyed drones.
And some won't be happy until they've convinced someone more stupid than themselves that it's just the flu. And possibly contributed to their death in the process. If you want to take a chance of catching this, at your age, that's your business, madam, but don't go infecting someone who would like to avoid it with your uncovered mouth in public. Those who would like to avoid it have rights too.
Do you wear a seatbelt? If you're like most old people, you're the first one to buckle up! Why wear a seatbelt but not a mask, if not for your own safety, perhaps out of some concern for others? This virus has been proven to be spread by those with the virus who are asymptomatic carriers.
Seriesly?
“Eh, I would disagree. Masks can help train people to not bring their hand to mouth/nose”
You actually made my point.
Sorry, long day. Can you explain?
Lets try to get this straight. You wearing a mask prevents your crud from landing on me. Not wearing a mask does not make you brave or patriotic, it saves me from your crud. We should do this for one another. I am a senior who does not have a young, personal shopper to help me or funds to hire one. I do not want your crud.
Remember how just 45 days ago it was 15 days so the hospitals wouldn’t be overwhelmed? Now that’s not the standard at all—and we need an army of brownshirt community healthcare organizers to chase after our every interaction—as if they didn’t have records of all that now already!
No worries
