Donald Trump is one man and he’s no spring chicken. We should not be building an entirely new party so that we can advance him as a candidate.
He needs to be a constructive force in fixing the GOP as it stands. The hostile takeover part is over and Trump has won. He owns it. The Liz Cheneys and Mitt Romneys have no power and very little time left. They don’t matter. Forget them! But there are voters who are naturally inclined to Trump’s policy positions and forceful negotiating stance but not his demeanor. Trump needs to win them over.
One way to do that is for all of us to draw finer distinctions rather than lump everyone who ever disagrees with Trump on any position as an anti-Trumper. Mitch McConnell, Bill Barr, Lindsay Graham and Marco Rubio immediately come to mind. None of these guys bear any resemblance to Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowski, or L. Cheney. Fox News talking heads Ingraham, Carlson, Hannity and so forth also fit this category. For goodness sakes, don’t tune Fox out. This sort of thing is suicidal.
Put differently, Trump has too few friends and allies for him or any of us to be turning away people who want to help him.
Flimsey Grahamnesty and Micro Rubio have FOUR amnesty votes between them.
And they want to do it again.
You keep voting for amnesty and you will get it.
