After 33 years of listening I’m really going to miss him.
I discovered Rush in 1989. I’ve been listening ever since. I will miss him.
A great one is gone. He was the “Thomas Paine” of the spoken word.
I was crying yesterday fearing that this was imminent. I have been listening every day since 1990 even taping it on my VCR before the podcast came out so I could listen at night when I got home from work. He kept me from despairing at the daily news with his optimism. I am crushed. We must carry on with brave hearts the way he showed us. I trust that he is filled with joy right now and that I will see him again someday. My prayers go out for Katherine and David and his entire family and all his friends.
Oh no. Such a good man and so effective with educating people.
Will be deeply deeply missed.
Rest in Peace, Rush.
Yours was a loud and resonant voice for conservatism in this jungle of American Politics.

I disagree that there is no “obvious replacement.”
I listened to Rush for years, but since the election now listen 3 hours daily to Steve Bannon.
Steve Bannon can carry the torch!
RIP Rush. The last show I heard was the show with Trump about last Oct where they both aired their grievances (lol). It was a great show.
RIP Rush. What a great man. Someone I grew up listening to. He was such a huge fixture in my life from when I was a young adult to now.

One more disconnect from civility and restraint.
Rush did so much to build Conservatism and Conservative voices. I think his total contribution
- in as much as it recognized and reminded everyone that Conservatism and Conservatives had to acknowledge the combat nature of the struggle they have -
was greater than William F. Buckley’s.
Where Buckley’s was very intellectual, Rush “cut to the chase”, which is what the popular Conservative movements needed.
Our voice. Will be missed.
