It’s seems that the major extant, non-transmuted “Investments” from the Roman Empire are remaining stone structures.
Of course investments in various aspects of Culture have indirectly continued.
It’s tough to pick anywhere to contribute buck$ that may have a very long term effect.
I'm about down to "just wait for it." The quote is from the book of Daniel. It essentially tells us a new kingdom is coming (the mountain), and it will be a new kingdom not like those in mankind's past. We've had our chance to govern ourselves. All have been failures due to human failings (our sinfulness and corruptibility). Apparently this "new" kingdom isn't going to be as tolerant toward our transgressions as we are ourselves.
It seems to be the only way to preserve the human species from driving itself to extinction (e.g., blowing ourselves up, killing our babies, wars, DNA altering, etc.) by that which created us in the first place.
