But some don't. A sales rep who worked for me in the early '00s had visible symptoms for well over a year. (To his credit he kept working and it didn't hurt his numbers.)

Yes but that is from normal pathogens. If this is an expression of nerve/brain/clot damage then he isnt getting it back and it might be a worse situation for him than it appears.

I had it. More or less full recovery took about 6 months. I began to recover after a few weeks, but I sounded like Forest Gump for about the first 2 months.
I got Bell’s Palsy following wisdom teeth removal in 1985. Resolved about 90% in a month, but my smile is still crooked, with less mouth extension on the right side, and I’m unable to open my right eye as much as my left eye.
