"...a lot of these films that do simultaneous release on streaming platforms and movie theater it's difficult to know how good it did..."

They deserve this for ruining the original 1999 movie with THREE bad sequels (they just got away with it the first 2 times). They spent 190 million on budget PLUS millions (my guess is as least 40) on marketing, and made back 67 so far...and the theaters get half of that! Nice red pill for them. LOL
By streaming movies, they are keeping people like me from watching those movies, because I don’t do streaming.
Maybe that’s just another money making movie franchise that has simply run out of gas and is no longer a reliable investment. It happens. Take a look at Ghostbusters.
The two sequels were no good. I liked this one.
And the sad part is, I’ll still end up having to buy the Blu-Ray when it comes out, to put on the shelf with the first three movies. I guess that’s how you know you’re a collector, when you buy stuff you don’t really want. Oh well.
We probably aren’t missing anything.
The Matrix creator just go done saying how disgusted he is that the people on the right were using the term red pill and blue pill against the left. He actually set out to make a movie to change that. Idiot deserves to lose.
I remember watching the first movie and being blown away. I took a friend to see the 2nd movie. It was so horrible I was really mad. No story... Just a bunch of Kung Fu. I had no use for it after that.
DIE, HOLLYWOOD, DIE!!!!!!
Couldn’t see that coming. I predicted it would suck. It only had one cool camera effect. Once Shrek made fun of it, it was over for the Matrix.
That was a co-writer of this new movie, not one of the creator brothers.
There were more good stories to tell, they just decided to preach instead.
The creators were two brothers. They now both claim to be women. Ugh! This movie had two co-writers, neither of which is one of the brothers. FYI.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife has had a pretty respectable run. It made gobs more money compared to the 2016 abomination when things like production costs are figured.
The message was clear: fans wanted more Ghostbusters. They did not want "woke" injected into it.
(Then again, I got talked into wearing a full Ghostbusters uniform at the first showing, so I might be biased somewhat ;-)
It was a little better than most of the crappy netflix/prime produced movies, but not by much. Certainly not worth the price or hassle of going to the theater.
If you have HBO Max it’s free until Jan 21, so if you have nothing better to do on a monday night, it might be worth you time.
They made that first movie and it connected with so many people, yet the creators could never understand why. That was clear with the first two sequels, but even given 20 years to reflect, they still don’t get it.
Amen!
Same concept with Matrix. What else can you do with the story?
