Biden Admin Handed California The Power To Mandate EVs Nationwide
Daily Caller ^ | 8/27/2022 | Jack McEnvoy

California has passed a new regulation that will ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles; the new emissions rule, which was permitted by the Biden administration, will have wide-ranging effects beyond California and could accelerate the nationwide transition to electric cars.

California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) finalized a rule Thursday that will outlaw the sale of gas-fueled cars by 2035. The law may push an increasing number of states to adopt similar rules and force Americans to exclusively buy electric vehicles (EVs) as numerous Democrat-run states such as New York, Massachusetts and Maryland routinely adopt California’s “clean car” standards, according to data from the Maryland Department of the Environment.

A few well placed charges along the San Andreas Fault would solve the california problem. We really don’t need any of the states from NJ on up and the border states would be motivated to hold the border after the california solution!

They will sucker everyone in then electricity prices will go up 10 fold. That is the control they seek. Look at Europe.

I agree, and I also suspect that if the infrastructure cannot handle the EVs those registration fees will go up until there are a number of EVs the grid can sustain.

I suspect it’s the plan, else they would be working on building up the infrastructure... yet, they are not.

They will say they are building the infrastructure we just have to be patient and take the bus for a while... but it will never be built. “A while” will be forever.

We can still get kerosene at the pump here in several locations.

California and any state that emulates it will eventually collapse from this beyond stupid move.

Maine’s second congressional district....80% of the state....is far more conservative than the rest of the state.

Maine has Open carry, Constitutional carry, private sales of firearms, etc.

President Trump carried this district by 10 points in 2016 and carried it again in 2020. He and his family spent a lot of time campaigning in Maine for both those election cycles.

The first congressional district in southeast Maine....20% of the state....is moonbat central.

Former Waterville mayor super-conservative Paul LePage was elected governor in 2010 and re-elected in 2014.

Because of term limits he could not run in 2018, but he is the Republican nominee this year.

I can’t wait to vote for him. He was a great governor.

Where are they going to get the electricity to re-charge these fire traps?

There was a post here on FR recently where a woman stated that her friend’s daughter re-charges her EV every night in her garage. The daughter’s electric bill went up by five times!

CO2 and water are the main by-products of burning gasoline. They both feed plants, which then give off oxygen. It’s a circle of life, and water vapor is THE main greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, not CO2.

I observed some of the effects of that explosion during my last job. The Hunga Tonga volcano explosion created an air shock that showed up on the air pressure plots of most of our weather stations and traveled around the world. It created a major tsunami in the pacific ocean, and then the air shock created a much smaller one in the Caribbean Sea

[[Where are they going to get the electricity to re-charge these fire traps?]]

By capturing and storing unicorn farts=- which miraculously are ‘Co2 Free’

Another post said a man who bought a humvee charges it and at a cost of $100 per charge- if that is a nightly charge- then wow! $3000 a month just to drive the beast?

“Hummer EV Is THE Status Symbol But It Costs $100 per Charge”

The horse is way out of the barn on this one. Automakers worldwide are already committed to all-electric for cars and light trucks by the mid-2030s, and will be at 50/50 for heavier chassis by then - anything that operates short-haul will be electric, long-range will probably stay diesel for a while longer absent an order-of-magnitude improvement in weight-to-power ratio or charging time for batteries.

California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) finalized a rule Thursday that will outlaw the sale of gas-fueled cars by 2035.

The CARB consists of 16 members, 12 of which were appointed by the governor and four that are chosen by the legislature. So this new rule is basically an edict carried out by an unelected board.

And they call us semi-fascists who pose a threat to democracy!

And then when the grid breaks down, everyone is forced into mass transit.

[[They will say they are building the infrastructure we just have to be patient and take the bus for a while]]

Our response to the liberal dolts pushing this nonsense is “Things were going fine till you all screwed everything up- We were able to jump in our cars and fuel up and not worry about how to get to bus stations when we have NO electric vehicles with energy enough to get us there, so that we can ‘take the bus to work’ like you dolts who screwed everything up for absolutely no reason suggest we do!”

There are a lot of them in Silicon Valley, but even there I’d guess 4% is about right. There are about 18 houses on our block and two Teslas. The guy across the street from us was a very early adopter. He bought (and still has) the very first little Tesla roadster / sports car. Not many people remember that machine. They made only 2,450 of them. “The Roadster was the first highway legal serial production all-electric car to use lithium-ion battery cells and the first production all-electric car to travel more than 200 miles per charge.” He still takes it out quite often.
