Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi (Likud) issued a strongly-worded rebuke to the IDF reservists who are threatening not to report for duty in protest against the government's planned judicial reforms.
"And Mordechai would not kneel nor bow down," Karhi wrote in a Twitter post to mark the start of the Purim holiday quoting the Book of Esther. "There are times when one must stand firm against the hegemony."
"To those refusing to serve, we say to them what Mordechai told Esther: 'Profit and salvation will arise for the Jews from another place, and your father's house will be destroyed,' he wrote. "The people of Israel will manage without you and you can go to hell."

Kind of necessary context missing.
The Israel Supreme Court claims it is an ultimate autocratic authority unto itself without restraint. The ‘reform’ is subjecting it to ultimate democratic oversight like in every other actual republican form of government on earth.
It is many things most important changing the way judges and the Attorney General are appointed in Israel.
No longer will it be the “bar association” liberals making the call.
It will be the elected parliament government deciding who is AG and who the judges are.
Next it will give the government the ability to pass legislation in certain cases that cannot be overturned by the judiciary.
This legislation states that no court can overturn it but that may happen if it passes anyway.

There is some “Council of State” that includes the monarch that has some review authority I understand in the Netherlands but that’s right the judiciary is neutered in Holland.
