I recently attempted to apply for an Ohio historic marker on behalf of a local history group. I just received a response from the Ohio History Connection, our state historical society.
"As your topic does not fit the special call, you will need to wait to May 2024 to reapply. That gives you plenty of time to pull together more materials in support of your application.

So this year they will only consider markers that are about "people of color, women, LGBTQ+, immigrants, under-represented faith-based traditions, and people with disabilities." Our group is excluded due to diversity, equity and inclusion. Thanks Ohio.

I strongly encourage you to take these materials to visit your state rep and state senator....if they are GOPers.... if not, move.
Visits, especially for groups, are pretty easy to arrange.
Bullet point your narrative with pictures and focus on the discrimination in favor of the Sodomites.....the Sod’s signature block alone will stir their blood.
Get angry....flow with “tonic masculinity”.
Resist.
I think you could make the case for “under-represented faith-based traditions.”
