I somewhat agree with Jagger’s own assessment of Exile on Main Street.... he believed they should have put more effort into the quality of the recording, that it had a sort of cheap sound so it didn’t come across great on the funky stereos we first heard it on... lots of distortion etc. That is probably the reason for it’s popularity, it comes off as a talented garage band sort of production, sort of grunge before there was such a thing.
