As long as politicians are willing to whore themselves out for high profile companies stadiums, and factories, and offices, will be be built with public funds.

We'll going have to tell the owners that they can move to SLC or St. Louis and dare them to uproot the team.

I think they're starting to lose goodwill with their fans. There are other things to do for entertainment.

And you can always go to a local minor league game which is much cheaper.

Umm, that doesn’t work. Teams move all the time. Notice the Dodgers aren’t in Brooklyn. They might lose goodwill with the fans they left, but they do OK in the new town.

And you’re ignoring the bigger issue. It isn’t just sports. Politicians ALWAYS want the big company. Amazon’s HQ2 did the same thing. Every Toyota factory. People piss and moan about sports running these negotiations, but never bother to notice that sports learned this from others. You don’t think it was an accident Detroit became Motor City do you? Nor a coincidence when most of the car companies built factories elsewhere?

If you’re gonna bitch about it, bitch about ALL OF IT. Not just one section.
