Ok...just thinking out of the box for a minute:

Suppose all this disinformation and ranting from Daleel and EOM is designed to attract our attention from other targets- like other FReepers have alluded to or said previously. I think they are cheesy third tier Al Qaeda at best, but they certainly arent first tier.

Al Qaeda is like Hitler in one respect: they want superweapons to defeat us because they cant come on to a field of battle and win decisively with their assets.

I dont look to see Al Qaeda nukes soon, but it is a concern that some hostile country could use them as a proxy to deliver one to our doorstep.

The Texas BASF shooting intrigues me because it is a fixed piece of infrastructure that could be subjected to a military style attack and cause an immediate and large scale public health problem. Sure it was immediately discounted as a terrorist related incident, but I think that is hogwash, because the first thing a LEO would think in that situation is "terrorism" given the suspect description.

Chemical plants are guarded, but most guards and law enforcement officers dont have the proper equipment to fend off a dedicated suicide like the Riyadh operation, where the terrorists shot themselves into the compound before bombing the buildings with an IED. They dont have anti-aircraft weapons dedicated to them, they dont have the capability to fend off AT weapons, and they cant stand up to machine guns or military grade weapnry with standard police weapons.

Suppose you coordinate attacks on targets like this one in multiple geographic locations at one time?

You could feasibly use a small amount of people to cause a large amount of harm.

I like the exercise of seeking the answers to this, and the reasoning that comes with it. It is an intellectual challenge I like.
