Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that untold numbers are before the Throne of Grace night and day on behalf of our beloved country. We thank You for stirring us to plead our cause, for we are aware of the danger that surrounds. We thank You that You are Founder of this great nation ... we thank You that those in authority over us seek that all nations enjoy the freedom that has been granted to us ... we know that others look upon might and wealth and power as things to be coveted, or destroyed, for such is the envy of man.

Father, we pray that Your hand of protection would rest mightily upon us ... not that we are deserving, but that You are a God of Mercy. Stand guard over our military, as they stand guard for us, and over us ... stand guard over our civilian protectors, for they are a line of defense that protects us. How can we thank You, Merciful Father, for these men and women who risk all that we would be safe? Surely, Your love is in them ... greater love hath no man, but that he would lay down his life for another. Cover these dear ones with our tears and our prayers ... may they become a covering of protection for each one, wherever they serve.

Thank You, O God, that You have granted unto us another night and day of relative peace and calm. May it continue to be so ... expose those who would do us harm ... sweep aside all plans for the shedding of innocent blood ... keep us focused and successful and render the enemy confused and powerless.

We seek peace and safety for all people, Sovereign Lord, for You are the Creator of each. Speak to the hearts of those who would destroy, that they might desire the joy of freedom. To You be all glory, honor, and praise, in the Name of Jesus, Amen ...

Please don't take this personally, but as offended as I get when I see some Muslim blabbering on about "Allah this" and "Allah that", I get just as upset when I see a Christian doing the same thing - "God this" and "Jesus that". Leave God out of this - just as Muslims should leave "Allah" out of this. This is a dispute between PEOPLE - human beings who, for whatever reason, feel the need to invoke some higher power as justification (in the Islamic case) or as protection (in the Christian case). It's rubbish to me. If it works for you, fine, but the truth of the matter is - RELIGION ONLY EXACERBATES THIS PROBLEM. Religion, if you go back far enough in history, is also the ROOT CAUSE of this problem between Islam and Christianity. When are humans going to wake up and realize this? When are we going to stop praying to some faceless "higher power" and realize that we are both in charge of our own destinies, and that ONLY we have the power to do something about the situation at hand? I don't intend to turn this thread into a religious free-for-all, but I also wanted to just point out that I find Christian verbiage just as annoying as Islamic verbiage. As I say, sorry if this comes across as personal - this is merely my opinion of what I think of the words you posted.
