Sorry that I haven't had a chance to be around much .. I've been having alot of problems with Jess in school. I talked with her math teacher and managed to get an idea of what is going on. Apparently it's not just one class she is having problems, but all her classes.

I had her bring home ALL her stuff from school so that I could go through it all and what a mess it was. I lost count of the amount of projects and tests that she hasn't told me about.

Went out tonight and bought her an organizer, new folders and etc., they aren't allowed to have this in class, but at this point I really don't give a hoot. Their way isn't working, so now it's going to be my way.

I had a looooooooong talk with her and about her best friend. That girl is making Jess nuts. I strongly suggested to Jess that she might want to hang around more with her other friends. The ones that aren't nuts.

I also made a eye doctors appoint to have her glasses re-checked .. her math teacher moved Jess's desk from the back to the front, so hopefully that will help. I still need to write follow up letters to her other teachers about her work.

Hopefully this BS that she is pulling in school will stop .. if not, looks like I'm going to be her worse nightmare .

Well, we got back from Tustin, CA. We took Missie to a special clinic where scintigraphy, CT, MRIs are done for animals...The whole point of the visit was to confirm if she had thyroid carcinoma related to the hyperthyroid problem. Well the left wing of the thyroid popped up as hyperthyroid. But the right side where the lump in her neck is did not. So CT scans were done. I am waiting for results. They were to be faxed to the vet here at home. I have a CD of the picutres that were taken and I need to get to the vet on MOnday...but it seems that, unless the lump can be got out without risk to her threacha and artery in her neck and other structures...chemo is not an option as in the doctor's view it is not successful with this type of cancer ( some sort of soft tissue cancer) and the other option which would be of value ( though no guarantees) is radiation. Well there is not a place near us so that would mean Missie would have to go to UC DAvis..be there a month, get treatments 3 times a week, be sedated each time and it would cost a mere 5 to 6 thousand dollars. As it was, the visit yesterday set us back 1600.00 and that is on top of the bills from here....Nevertheless, Missie is a little fighter..holding her own and who knows...she could stun em all. She was soooooo good in the car going down and at my sister in law's house. Rosie has an African Gray parrott and he talks...well he also hears really well too, He heard Missie purring and guess what he was doing this morning...this big ol parrott was purring in his cage. Course when he actually saw Missie he had a fit of enormous porportions!

Maybe next week we will know something more, I think the doctors here are going to have to take the results from the scans and refer back with the oncologist and the pathologist to see what might be a workable solution for Missie but one that is in her best interest. In the meantime I am just going to enjoy her as I always do, take lots and lots of pictures ( not that I don't already have zillions) and keep her as happy as we can.

Is Jess in middle school?

That is the worst element of school, I think.

Here, in my small town, k through 6 goes to their own district school. And then, in the seventh, they merge with all districts in the community.

And then they meet and make friends with students who do not share your own values of studies or morals.

Anyway, beat her butt if she lies to you.

No, Jess is in 5th grade right now. I send my girls to the catholic school, and the have k thru 8 grade .. so she won't be switching schools for Junior High .. just the type of uniform they wear.

At first I was blaming it on the whole growing up and having more responsibility .. because I know it can be rough at first .. plus the hormones don't help either.

But this is beyond the beyond and just not acceptable behavior IMO. She had been hiding projects and tests from me and being very sneaky .. then when I would ask her about homework and stuff, she would lie about it .. the one positive thing is, Jess is not a good liar .. the guilt is written all over her face.


The problem was, I didn't have proof so that I could call her to the matt on it .. but I do now and more.

The way she has been acting is very unlike her and it seems to have started this year. I don't mean to blame her best friend, because Jess needs to be held accountable for her actions, but this girl has a HUGE problem with telling lies, making up some just unbelievable stories and bringing on the tears when need be .. and these are the types of things Jess has been doing with me.

That kind of stuff just doesn't fly with me .. but at least now I have the teachers attention and they said they will let me know if this continues.
