Did everyone here read about that story in yesterday's UK Sunday Telegraph? Mohammed Atta reportedly trained in Baghdad for 3 days just two months before he slammed a plane into the Twin Towers.
The story got largely overlooked after the Saddam news broke, but I wanted to be sure you all saw this passage from a memo TO SADDAM from Iraq's intelligence chief :
(7/1/01)
Mohammed Atta, an Egyptian national, came with Abu Ammer [the real name behind this Arabic alias remains a mystery] and we hosted him in Abu Nidal's house at al-Dora under our direct supervision." We arranged a work program for him for three days with a team dedicated to working with him...He displayed extraordinary effort and showed a firm commitment to lead the team which will be responsible for attacking the targets that we have agreed to destroy.

Chris Matthews actually mentioned it yesterday, I nearly fell over. But then (and this is what prompted my post about how reporters state as fact no connections) minutes later Chris says there is absolutely no connection between 9/11 and Saddam.
One has to be extremely naive or completely disingenuous to come to the conclusion at this stage that Saddam and Osama weren't in collusion.
