Giving the benefit of the doubt that there are a few conservatives who are not DUTrolls who are genuinely ticked enough at bush to prefer a dem in office... despite the ongoing war...

They serve a purpose. Those of us slightly annoyed conservatives who dislike the various pandering bush is doing to promote himself as a "compassionate" (code word for spending like a liberal) conservative.. can use these conservative to make a fuss loud enough that bush reins in some of his bs.
Bush has upped spending everywhere... and tossed a few pennies at the worst.. NEA. This sends a shiver down the spine of good conservatives and rightly so... he might as well give money to ACT UP or PETA or GREENPEACE or NOW or the ACLU as give it to the NEA.. He has stabbed us in the back.
I will be voting for Bush.. Bush on his worst day is better than flip flop ass kiss clark or some New England Ted Kennedy Clone.. or any dem..
But those here at FREREP announcing their intention to abandon Bush.. maybe they will scare the white house enough to get some common sense in their heads and do a little reigning in.
And hopefully.. once that purpose is served.. when they walk into the polls and see the list of names on their ballot... maybe kerry...dean.. or whoever. - they secretely make the right choice, and vote for bush; while continuing their God Given American right to be pissed off when the Prez is doing things like some of what he's been doing.. but recognizing how important it is for the Reps to be in control right now.. lest our sovereignty is ceded to France and the UN, the murder of babies continues, your fire arms are removed from your home, and you son is taught to marry men.

A lot of people blow off steam on this board, but when November comes around, they will vote for their best interests.

I've been disappointed with some of Bush's policies and signed bills, but I know that I will probably vote for President Bush in November.

President Kerry is an unacceptable alternative.

I think Bush is very fortunate in that foreign policy will be a big issue in this election. I think a lot of conservatives unhappy with Bush may not have minded a Dem winning, since with a Republican-held Congress you would have more gridlock, which would keep spending down (at least that would be the conventional wisdom, depending on how much spine the GOP leadership would have). But in the aftermath of 9/11 that gets thrown out, we just cannot afford to have a peacenik, UN-lover in the White House.

Please just read this and hear me out, it may be a bit rambling so my apologize. You know what is the sad part about this whole tragedy. We all want what is best for the country. We all hold GWB at least in some ways in high regards. And some of us, those who have been very critical of GWB on parts of his domestic agenda are just the tip of the iceberg. The have been numerous articles as of late warning that gwb is angering the base. And those of us, myself among them, who have publicly said that we cannot or will not support GWB know that he is the best one running that can win. We need to start finding ways to move GWB back to the right quickly so that those here who no longer support him will be given real and substantial reasons to reevaluate their choose. Both for them and for all the others out there who are not on this board, but are fed up with the leftist slant as of late. Because if GWB does not at least try to appease the base he very well could go the way of his father. We need to work to bring GWB back to the right and keep his feet to the fire so those of us who are cut loose from the reps now will support him in the fall. We do not need a leftist in the Whitehouse whether he be a rep or a dem

In my case i didn't vote for Bush in 2000 but intend to in November. Obviously I'm no fan of illegal immigration, and seek smaller govt with less spending.

However, the choices this year are few and i WILL NOT VOTE DEMOCRAT with the current crop of clowns in the running. Personally i have trouble believing that Bush is willing to commit political suicide without some unseen motive.

I too have bitched about his pandering, not only here but over at the GOP's web site as well. Yes, I'll still vote for him, but something - even symbolic in nature - had to be done.

I still think Rove should go.

Wait until the "Assault Weapons" ban comes up for renewal - if the President allows it to be reinstated, any number will decide that there is no difference between he and the hero of Chappaquiddick

Keep in mind that most of us do not live in swing states, and we are safe in voting our principles for a third party without enhancing the chance of a Dem winning because of us.

It would be an interesting study to look at 3rd party voting patterns based on how close the vote is, and whether 3rd party voting is more prevalent when the state outcome is a foregone conclusion.

Anyone that prefers a democrat in office is NOT a conservative. The only purpose you serve is to get what you want; a democrat in office?

Bashers

The bashers really make me laugh,
They pick their whining point.
They shout and cry and jump about,
Their nose gets out of joint.
Immigration seems to be,
The one they like the best.
They offer no real counter plan,
Just buzz around like pests.
They say they’ll vote for someone else,
Well heck that is their right.
Some say, that they, will just not vote,
That really isn’t bright.
If democrats should win this thing,
Because we get distracted.
We’ve shot our nation in the foot,
The pain will be protracted.
To anyone that’s on the right,
My free advice will be.
Vote for Bush in Oh Oh Four,
He’s still the one, you’ll see.

yep, I agree...

Mostly I think they are DU Trolls.. but I can see why many are pissed.

Its the new "moderate" USA...

I think politically.. Bush was not comfortable with the win he had in 00.. and so hes tossing some tokens to some gays, some mexicans, and other lefty groups trying to get a few extra.

He's polling at 53% here in CA.. he lost CA at 37% in 00.. some pipe dream like winning CA on the heels of arnold = Game Over.. no dem will be in office...ever.. so he seems to be pandering with useless platitudes..
Giving money to NEA .. meant nothing. A few mil to the USA Gov is like Donald Trump finding a quarter in the seat of his limo.. it is irrelevent.. but man I admit.. it does taste nasty.

Bush will get a boost in September when the AWB sunsets. Republicans will get a boost if Tancredo gets his Immigration Bills through..

Just my 2 cents..

I volunteered for W last time around and am very disappointed with whats going on. But, I agree, NO WAY is a 'President Kerry" an alternative.
