Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Beautiful flag. Lovely flowers. Are there a lot of flags out?

My neighborhood, sadly, has very few. I think it's because there aren't many ex-military types. Just lawyers and things.

Might go out for Thai food for dinner, though.

Mmmm. Thai food!! That's an idea for this week while Clare and Joseph are gone! Paul and David LOVE Thai food, and that will be a nice treat since we're gonna be workin them hard this week! ;o)

So...I was gonna tell ya...no promises, but... Turns out the family that Margaret and Stephen were down visiting have THREE sons in Colorado. I guess I'd kinda known that, but it was before you were gonna go there, and I didn't really think much about it. However, it turns out they all live in...*drum roll* Fort Collins! AND they're going out to visit 'em in August. Now...I know you may already have started school...but I did ask if I could maybe ride with 'em if they go, and they said sure. So - maybe we could visit earlier than we thought? I figure even if you're in school during the day, I could always amuse myself wandering around and then we could do stuff in the evenings.

Of course, this may depend on my work schedule. I can't remember when school starts here, but I can't leave too near the beginning of school.

And another thing, though this is far more iffy...

Remember I've been waiting and hoping to find out I got at least a cost-of-living raise this year. However, as it turns out, because my job falls under a union that is still being negotiated, they aren't giving any raises, until if and when they figure out the rules. All well and good for people who are making it, but I'm not. Something has to change.

Bottom line...I'm starting to think a bit more seriously about taking you up on the room mate offer. Can I bring a cat and a dog? ;-)

I still dunno, but my firm "no" is becoming a little squishier. I'm almost thinking of trying to set up job interviews if and when I go out there with that family.

Have fun at your picnic Rosie! :-)

I just made some chili con queso so I thought it might be a good time to kick back - IF I can find some movie to watch! :-)

Hm...I know of a good movie...begins with "Return" and ends with "King". Maybe you could watch that?

We aren't leaving for a bit. And I'm feeling very, very restless. *sigh* I hate money worries. And worries about maybe having to go on unwanted adventures. I like my little house and my little life, durn it! Why can't I just have that WORK???

I was out at my Dad's, but came back here because I wasn't really taking part in any of the conversations and such because of this. Ugh.

Pippin just looked into this bowling ball.

Sad to hear you've got these work worries. I kinda got some stuff like that too. After my classes didn't make this summer and I don't have enough students AGAIN, I don't really forsee a glowing year for the coming school year either. *sigh* Not sure how long this job is gonna last for me at all.

I've been checking out other schools in Texas for openings but haven't found any yet. I'm in the unknown right now. And that is uncomfortable.

Unknown is very uncomfortable, yep. And I'm done borrowing. I could probably get a second job...but mentally I dunno how well I'd handle that. I get overwhelmed pretty easily.

I've been thinkin' of going ahead and getting a second job too. I don't *have* to as long as I've got this one. But, I dunno, I keep wondering if I should do it to hedge things a little.

I was thinking of going home and working this summer but with Wedding Moot at the end of June and then having to teach one week to kids in July it kinda shuts down that idea.

Much of me thinks I should pack up my stuff here and head back to the old house... cept the old place isn't really liveable anymore. I *could* live there. But, it has really fallen apart without me there to see to upkeep and it is VEY old. I have determined though, that if I *do* lose this job I'm just going back there. There is a lot to be said for having no house payment!

The whole family liked her! Steve said after she left "That was a pretty nice visi!" And Matthew said "I really liked your friend!" The jedis got a big kick out of having company...as you will see in one of the pictures.

I'm loading them on the other computer...

I'm just afraid it'll put me in a higher tax bracket and negate any benefit I'd get from it! And wondering if I'd make enough for it to be worth it. I doubt I can find anything that pays more than, say, seven dollars an hour or so. I guess every little bit helps, but...I like my evenings! And I dunno how that would work with the dogs and all.

You're pictures were GREAT! OT and I were talking about how maybe she could cruise down here and then we could drive together down to visit Wn sometimes!

We played whistles into the wee hours of this morning...it was fabulous.

BRB...gonna get those pics on York and then post them...
