The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

So I had a weird Hole-related dream last night. I dreamed I was in this grocery store with heavy security that had a lounge with a computer desk in the lobby (which makes no sense, but hey, it's a dream!), and when I sat down at the desk to type, I discovered someone had concealed a miniature version of a Hobbit Hole knife next to the desk. This struck me as odd, so I alerted security and they began a sweep of the area for possible terrorists with knives. I asked them if I could keep the knife when they were done looking :)

Speaking of Ron Howard, have you ever seen the MST episode Village of the Giants that he was in?

This is my recording schedule for this next year. I just have to remember to put in the appropriate tape into the the appropriate VCR when I get up in the morning (except Sat, when I need to put one in in the evening before bed).

Every week I record 10 tapes, while the jedis will be using a set of the 10 tapes I taped the week before...I just alternate recording every other week the same 10 tapes.

The M or J stands for Matthew or Joshua.

VCR 1-- M-Handwriting
VCR 2-- Empty

Sunday Morning (before 10:00am)
VCR 1-- M-Bible
VCR 2-- Empty

VCR 2-- M-Reading

Tuesday Morning

Didja get the Scrapped Princess cookies working?

Am optimistic about the baking of the Fullmetal Alchemist cookies. Will keep you and Rosie updated. Just realized that last night, I accidentally watched episode 8 instead of 7; no wonder things seemed out of joint! I kept waiting for a flashback and there never was one, because the material had really been covered.

I like the fact that anime is in nice bite-sized chunks! If I want to watch something, 24 minutes is much more likely to fit my schedule than two hours.

This is for courses that are broadcast on video? How does that work? Is there some special service you subscribed to?

I guess I missed when you mentioned this before! You did say a few days ago that you needed new VCRs for school, but I didn't completely get it.

Care for a cup of something which is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea?

"Didja get the Scrapped Princess cookies working?"

I was going to look into the codec thing today; was up late working on my article last night.

Hope the cookies work! BTW I'm hoping to be able to get that new baking equipment next month (fingers crossed). . .

A new "Spider-Man" reprint I ordered just arrived in the mail today :)

"42" or "What is 6 times 9" always works, in any discussion of Hitchhiker's Guide.

Don't go to too much effort, I may not be able to get packages once I move. Or it may be too much effort to do so. The apartment complex does not accept packages, and until I figure stuff out...
