The ultimate in the vice presidential debate: Dick Cheney, giving up his 90-second reply to shut down John Edwards’ sleazy attempt to drag Cheney’s daughter into the debate. It had to be hard for Cheney but it shows his true class and Eddies lack of class.

“And Senator, frankly, you have a record in the Senate that’s not very distinguished. You’ve missed 33 out of 36 meetings in the Judiciary Committee, almost 70 percent of the meetings of the Intelligence Committee.

“You’ve missed a lot of key votes: on tax policy, on energy, on Medicare reform.

“Your hometown newspaper has taken to calling you “Senator Gone.” You’ve got one of the worst attendance records in the United States Senate.

And you couldn't post this within one of the existing threads on the VP debate?

I'm surprised you even use the word with little john. He is a plaintif"s attorney, a pure ambulance chaser, the lowest of the low. On the occupational/moral food chain, he is right down there with "used car salesman" or "telephone sales marketer- roof repair!" Sure, he can fake juries into million dollar settlements and that makes destroying his state's mediacl sytem worthwhile. The dems are owned by the scum. We should be hammering on plaintifs' attorneys and the filthy damage they do to society. In fact, any time a letif equates "Halliburton" with evil, we should respond with a definition of Edwards sleazy occupation!

i couldn't stand watching Edwards last night. He looked like a really fake, really unbelieveable, kind of plastered father figure that will say anything he needs to sway people in his direction. And the sad part is people are drawn to that sensitivity like a light. It makes me sick to my stomach.

I do agree it was a good move not to bring up the daughter. But I think that Edwards stabbed himself over the whole gay marriage issue, considering that he wasn't in full 100 percent support for it. He echoed some of the issues, but him touting that marriage is between a man and a woman practically killed whatever Edwards can say later about the topic. I know gay rights activists everywhere want to burn Cheney at the stake for having a gay daughter but supporting the president. But I applaud Cheney for not taking the oppurtunity to dig himself a hole on that and not responding to Edwards draw.

I noticed that Cheney's daughter was there with the family after the debate last night- unlike the GOP National Convention, where Mary was a no-show.

Edwards hammered home the point that one state doesn't have to recognize the marriages granted by another state. This is almost a worse-case scenario for homosexuals who favor gay marriage.

Gays want court involvement, because if gay marriage is left up to the voters at the state level they will likely vote to ban it....

Edwards wants us to think that if the states decide then everyone will be happy and the issue will be at rest, when I suggest that he and Kerry would seek to appoint federal judges who would overturn the will of the voters on this issue.

hence why gays have to use the courts and not the will of the american people :)
