Why Do Conservatives Allow The Left To Shout Them Down on Television??

Why do we allow the left to shout us down? This has been bugging me so much lately, I thought we might discuss this, and possibly come up with a way to obviate the problem. Let us round up the usual left wing suspects who are the most egregious offenders: Lawrence O'Donnell Alan Colmes Paul Begala Bob Beckel Bill Press Katrina vanden Heuvel.....the list is endless, but the modus operandi is clear. Let us begin with a classic example of "muzzle the conservative". Lawrence O'Donnell is debating John O'Neill. O'Donnell merely screamed "liar" over O'Neill every time it was O'Neill's turn to speak. Even Pat Buchanan failed to stop the O'Connell filibuster! I have a suggestion for conservatives who are up against a motormouth liberal on television. Tell the moderator that you will walk off the set if the opposition proceeds to talk over you when it is your turn to speak. When the "talkover" occurs, tell the moderator that his/her job is to afford both sides an opportunity to speak their peace, and if the moderator is going to allow a left wing fillibuster, off the set you go. I have only seen 2 conservatives demand equal time prior to the beginning of a debate, and both recieved a fair interview. It is about time we ALL demanded a modicum of fairness, and if we don't demand it, we won't GET it!!

Personally I wish O'Donnell were allowed to go back on TV with a dog training collar. Every time he interrupted a guest the moderator could give him a shock. Operant conditioning works. LOL

I like the way radical libs shout down conservatives. It only does us good. They are illogical hysterical bullies, while our side is reasoned, civil and sophisticated. Their behavior helps us. The illiberal left loves their bad behavior, I know, but whenever a moderate catches an O'Donnell or a Beckel being a breathtakingly cruel ass, he or she moves a bit more toward us. It's a good thing.

The best way to debate a liberal is to start from the position that their point of view is irrelevant. Unfortunately, the very act of engaging them elevates their perspective in the mind of the viewers. This was demonstrated with the 3 Kerry-Bush debates. Bush helped Kerry's standing in the election just by stepping on stage with him.

Decorum and maturity are the first two words that come to mind. We've cornered the market on it.

One of the clues that Democrats are inferior is that they haven't gotten the age-old clue that no one wins a screaming match. It's like GOP's the parent and Dems are the kid.

First of all, it's not fair to include Alan Colmes in your list .

I thought all conservatives should have refused to appear on "Hardball" after Matthews mistreated Malkin. But you saw the conservatives return, eager for "face" time. This is a function of conservatives' vanity, and should be disciplined.

Conservatives should game the system, and refuse to appear in a 3-way discussion. Since conservatives generally were raised by decent mothers instead of a crack house brothel like liberals, they have better manners, which works to their disadvantage.
