I spent the entire afternoon (it never got above 5 here) watching ROTK-EE. It certainly makes for a more satisfying experience than the theatrical release.
While Theoden's speech to the troops still gets to me, I have to admit that Aragorn's speech outside the black gates is moving up in my estimation.
I hate to say this, but does anybody else see Legolas's attack on the oliphant as something similar to Luke versus the ATAT in "Empire Strikes Back"?

I particularly enjoyed Theoden refusing the offer of peace* toward the beginning of the EE.
I always found Theoden's and Aragorn's battlefield speeches on a par with both "Once more.." and "St. Crispin's Day" from Henry V.
As for the other thing, Legolas did it cooler, and didn't need a winch, a lightsaber and a grenade to do it :)

We also like the additions to the EE, most are really good story elements, though one serves best as a bathroom break time, which is still a valuable service. ;~D
