Yet the Sox spurned a very good shortstop, Orlando Cabrera (they wouldn't even take his calls), in favor of Edgar Renteria. Yet I don't hear Sox fans grumbling about how Renteria left the Cardinals for the Sox due to the extra money Boston was willing to pay him. Nor do I hear any Boston fans saying that Sox management should have stuck with Cabrera. Funny how that works!
