Is Detroit a Conservative or Liberal city?
I know the city always votes Liberal but so dose every major USA city. I'm talkin about the 3 County Metro area (Macomb, Oakland, Wayne)
I am planning on moving to Chesterfield in April. Chesterfield is a Detroit suburb (Macomb Co.)
As long as I'm askin ?s about Detroit, I heard from a teacher I had at St.Paul Lutheran School the Detroit News was Conservative bias. Is that true?
Thanks again, Freepers, 4 your help in this time of change in my life!!!

Macomb County is Conservative.
Detroit is Lib heaven. But that's the same with most major cities.

In this corner of the state the Freep is the Detroit Free Press, a totally liberal paper. the Detroit News is slightly less liberal, but not much. The News has a less liberal editorial page but is as liberal as they get on the news pages.
Oakland county is dominantly conservative, though it contains the reliably liberal city of Pontiac.

I'm curious, are you moving for work?
If you don't have firm plans I suggest looking at places away from Detroit. I live in Jackson county, it's a fairly cheap county to live in but a few of the surrounding counties hold higher paying jobs without a long distance commute.

The tri-county Metro Detroit area is liberal but not nearly as bad as the People's Democratic Socialist Republic of Ann Arbor.
Macomb used to be Reagan Democrat country, but it's grown so much I have no idea what it's like anymore.

What happened to Kansas City and Robinson, IL? Your bio says you already live in Chesterfield. you've already posted two threads on moving to Michigan as well as one each for KC and Robinson. I am curious as to why you post these.

I made that commute for 18 months. Albion to the RenCen and back everyday. It was 1000 miles a week on my car. It freepin' wore me OUT!
I had to leave by 6:15, latest, to be there before 8:30. Traffic between Ann Arbor and Detroit was ridiculous and I had to face it 2x a day. And, the sun was in my face each time.
Far East Jax County is nice land but that commute will hurt. Sooner or later, you'll end up looking for work closer to home, guaranteed
