All of you who are going to stay home or vote third party if a moderate is nominated might as well vote for the Dim candidate. It's has the same effect. That's a pretty stupid view of voting for a third party conservative candidate. By voting for a conservative 3rd party candidate you are telling the Republican Party, "Hey, I'm a conservative kind of voter, but you guys aren't doing enough to keep my vote. Here I am for the next time around, let's see if you can deliver on smaller government for once."

We all have our own litmus tests, and many we two both share, and some not. Of course, when the Dem nominates their candidate for president, well, usually out best intentions to MAKE A STATEMENT tend to fall by the wayside for obvious reasons. The Dem constituency groups that a Dem presidential candidate must cater to, just favor too much that is not in the best interests of the Fruited Plain, either practically or morally.

Well, I know Rudy will stand up for America ( he has some back bone ) but, some of his polices and issues he believes in will turn off most Conservatives like abortion, and gay marriage.

I actually misread your post. I do the same thing. I suspect in primaries if we lived in certain places, we would send money to opposite sides in primaries. But not in the two states we live in. LOL.

I think he knows after this election, the American people have spoken and won't put up with the abortion issue or gay marriage. Hopefully he would change his position on those issues.

(Groans) I guess I would take Guiliani. At least he has the guts to not straddle the fence, which I appreciate in a world leader

"Also, whoever the GOP nominee is in 2008, I'll vote for them. All of you who are going to stay home or vote third party if a moderate is nominated might as well vote for the Dim candidate. It's has the same effect." I think that you are onto a brilliant strategy. /sarcasm.
If the voters have a choice of a liberal Democrat (aka a socialist) or a moderate to liberal Republican (aka a socialist light), we'll soon be rid of this infernal two party system that continually bleeds us for campaign donations and the Republican party will be the one that is obsolete.
And all of you who tolerate a candidate who is indistinguishable from a Democrat except for the "R" after his name will be the ones responsible.

Are you suggesting that the GOP violate the bounds of the Constitution to nominate a foreign born candidate or do you think the GOP bench is so lacking that we have to change the constitution?
Either way, Arnold won't get my vote. Nor will MCain or Rudy or Frist or Dole or Jeb.
On second thought, maybe we better start pushing that amendment now.

The GOP knows it can't win without the values voters so if they go with a RINO the fix is in, they want Hiltery to be president, I will have no part in that passion play. As much as I think Buchannan is a jerk I will vote for him. That's 2 for 2 that I agree with you.

The only way we can hang on to the WH, Senate and the House is if everyone sticks together and goes to the polls, even if they have to hold their nose. I will vote for whatever Republican runs no matter who it is. Even Hillary?
Do you have an "R" fetish?
Is there any principle that matters to you?
You'd support an 'Arlen Specter' or a 'Lincoln Chaffee' Republican over a 'Zell Miller' Democrat?
You better realize that you need conservatives to win the power that you seek. The GOP WAS the party that seemed to be the vehicle that we needed to enact our principles. We can lose an election, but no one can take away our principles. You lose an election and you lose everything that matters to you.
That's sad, but I can't really generate anything but contempt for those who want power so badly that they will disregard any and all principle.

Jeb/Powell. Jeb obviously is the best choice for President of all the contenders. In the primary's he would sweep the South and the mountain states, Texas too. I used to be skeptical of Powell but I have seen him handle phony Congressmen, who tried to flatter him, with a back hand. I also think he now understands what kind of scumbags run Europe.
