Because the majority of the MSM are non-Catholics and are ignorant of the religion. LOL
and the resr are CINO's who haven't been to Mass in so long they wouldn't know what to do when they got there!
Ditto, I tried to escape this. NBC network the worst as I checked.
I am sorry that the Pope has passed away, but please enough of the wall to wall, around the clock coverage. there are other things happening around the world besides this. Is anybody going to cover the MOH ceramony at the Whitehouse today? I doubt that they will. It is the first one in the current operations in Iraq.
I'll probly get zotted for this, but it is IMHO!
Will we get to see Cardinal Silverhammer do his thing?
That got done before we were told of his death. Now, I wonder where Maxwell was?
I find myself praying that the world pays as much attention to the next living pope as they are paying to this dead one.
Is C-SPAN covering any of this? I like their style of coverage of US government and politics. I wonder if any other organization would cover the Vatican the way C-SPAN covers US politics?
Just as an aside, I was listening to CNN Headline News this a.m. while they interviewed a G.I. who served with the only Medal of Honor recipient in the Iraq war. At the end of the interview, (I could hardly believe my ears) the G.I. said and I'm paraphrasing, "WE DON'T NEED CNN, WE WANT FOX NEWS. I stayed there to see the repeat of the interview and CNN had clipped the comments of the G.I.
This is an important historical event. I am glad it is getting this coverage. In normal times it isn't like we get a lot of important stuff; mostly car chases and Michael Jackson.

Oh wow, I had no idea that there was an actual ceremony today. Thanks for starting the thread. I am fascinated by the majesty of the traditions.
For those with Directv, EWTN us channel 422. No commentary at all.
You're welcome. I am fascinated by all the rituals - find it all so beautiful. Personally, I am glad they are covering this. The less newscaster chatter the better though...
Thanks. I can't figure this newfangled thing out. I can punch in 4 2 2 though.
The Pope deserves the most news by far.
The MOH ceremony should get placement in the first block of the evening news, but only an anchor reader with video.
CNN has been excellent....
Fox banners....
before Easter....Pope A No Show?
Before his death....No Hope For The Pope
Saturday Morning....Pope Paul John II
Turn Fox off
I thought Steve and E.D. were only weekdays, and those guys were always weekends?
You're welcome.
Speaking of the traditions, my mother said she heard on Fox that when the Pope was living, there had to be a special restroom built wherever he traveled, and only he could use it. She said that the FOX person said that all the cardinals etc who accompanied the Pope could not use said restroom and instead used "bags".....did anyone else hear this or has my mother just gotten even more insane?
Thanks for the EWTN/channel 422 hint. They are doing a respectful translation...
