Word For The Day, Friday, May 13, 2005

Friday, May 13, 2005

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Dodgeball Day!

Subbie Slip has given her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs to xs today.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

And tioga and Texan 5 never saw the tree catcher I posted the link to yesterday. Very peculiar. Patton, maybe you can see this one.

no, email shows up on my laptop.

I still haven't replaced the home-built computer BEAST where I read FR.

Somebody told me I wasn't allowed to shop at BB, so I let it wait.

Oh, no-paint-I would have run mad if mine had done that. The worst I ever experienced was when mine and a friend of hers she'd stayed over night with were at a restaurant early the next morning that friend's mother owned while she baked the bread and pies for that day. While she was busy, the little darlings got bored and opened a big package of lard to play with-they were covered from head to toe with the crap-it took me 3 days to get the sticky feeling out of my daughter's hair, and the clothes she'd been wearing were unsalvageable-my husband jokingly said we should use them to light the grill for some steaks...

Again, I am grateful for your suggestions. I had no idea you were giving me St. Ronnie's ideas...but they worked like a charm! I'm teaching PE (golf) next week. Those poor kids!

I admittedly have a hard time saying no to some things. Now I'll be doing both days next week. My two part-time jobs have turned into a fulltime job but school only lasts for 2 more weeks.

They were painting their "clubhouse" which is an old company van......but they knew, as only kids do, they were going to be in trouble for also having used the paint on themselves once they saw mommy. Daddy is the one who doesn't think they should be allowed to go to the Lodge tonight.........

Chris told me she used every bit of paint thinner they had in both the house and the shop - and the kids were still smurfs this morning.

Hubby decided we're going out for dinner even though chris and family aren't - and he is hungry - so we're going NOW - I'll be back later :)

Small paint accidents are really nothing to get excited about.

Of course, I was raised by an artist...LOL

This was not a "small paint accident" by any shape of the imagination.........and especially when the paint they got into is $60 a gallon.......
