Yikes: Save Katie Holmes from the destructive cult of Scientology.

"During the early 1970s, the IRS conducted its own auditing sessions and proved that Hubbard was skimming millions of dollars from the church, laundering the money through dummy corporations in Panama and stashing it in Swiss bank accounts. Moreover, church members stole IRS documents, filed false tax returns and harassed the agency's employees. By late 1985, with high-level defectors accusing Hubbard of having stolen as much as S200 million from the church, the IRS was seeking an indictment of Hubbard for tax fraud. Scientology members "worked day and night" shredding documents the IRS sought, according to defector Aznaran, who took part in the scheme. Hubbard, who had been in hiding for five years, died before the criminal case could be prosecuted."

In 1993 the Church of Scientology obtained tax exemption as a "religion" from the IRS in a secret agreement that is still under scrutiny.

The "Church" has (declared only) assets of approximately $400 million.

Of course it is a cult. It's headquartered about 20 miles from me Clearwater, Florida where it is taking over property and influence in an alarming manner.

The dead woman incident took place in Clearwater, and it was whitewashed by the media and local law enforcement.

Why? The licentious little simp deserves scientology. Maybe the pain will wizen her up a bit.

Moreover, church members stole IRS documents, filed false tax returns and harassed the agency's employees.

Well now, this doesn't sound too terrible. . .

I worry that all this press over Holmes and Cruise will lead many lost minds to "look into" $cientology. Already I've had to talk with my wife's friend, who was going to stop by a local $cientology center.

At first she could't believe the aliens stuff, but then I directed her to Xenu.net.

This is precisely the strategy of the COS. They believe that celebrity members give them credibility. While that may have been true in the past, the emergence of the New Media has changed a lot of perceptions, Hollywood in particular. Nowadays, when someone learns that someone like Tom Cruise is a Scio, the reaction is often, "He must have a screw loose somewhere. Oh well, that's Hollywood for you."

Even though she's as cute as a bug's ear,

Except for the herpes sores on her lip, from that picture way back.
